A Guide to Mercedes-Benz Stadium
Opened in 2017, Mercedes-Benz Stadium serves as the home of the Atlanta Falcons, replacing the nearby Georgia Dome in downtown Atlanta. The venue is LEED Platinum certified and is distinguished by its unique eight-panel kinetic retractable roof.
Getting to the Stadium
The stadium sits in downtown Atlanta, part of the stadium district that also includes State Farm Arena and Centennial Olympic Park. The downtown location makes it accessible from throughout the metro area, with excellent MARTA transit connections and multiple parking options.
Driving & Parking
- Driving
- From the North (I-75/85 Southbound)Take Exit 249C (Williams St). Proceed straight on Williams St, then turn right onto Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd NW. Turn left onto Northside Drive NW or Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW to reach northern and western parking areas
- From the South (I-75/85 Northbound)Take Exit 249D (Spring St). Follow Spring St as it veers left to become Centennial Olympic Park Drive NW. Turn left onto Andrew Young International Blvd NW or Marietta St NW to access eastern parking structures
- From the East (I-20 Westbound)Take Exit 56B (Windsor St/Spring St). Turn right onto Ted Turner Drive SW, then turn left onto Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW to access southern or eastern parking
- From the West (I-20 Eastbound)Take Exit 56B (Windsor St/Spring St). Turn left onto Ted Turner Drive SW, then turn left onto Mitchell St SW or Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW to approach the southern stadium lots.
- Parking
- Official LotsAll 11 of the official lots surrounding the stadium require pre-purchase through JustPark, the official parking partner of the stadium. The capacity for these lots is relatively small and early purchase is encouraged. Tailgating is allowed in the surface lots (Blue, Yellow, Northgate, Lot 17, EY Lot) but not in any of the multi-level garages (all Decks). The Home Depot Backyard is the primary tailgating area next to the stadium.
- Private ParkingAdditional private parking is available within about a mile from the stadium with South Downtown and the Centennial Olympic park areas being popular options.
- Tailgating SuppliesFor tailgaters needing to stock up, Publix Super Market at Summerhill is a nearby grocery option. Walmart Neighborhood Market offers groceries and essentials. For beverages, Mac's Beer & Wine/Midtown Liquor has been serving the community since 1987, and Tower Beer, Wine & Spirits in Buckhead offers extensive selections. Total Wine & More has locations throughout the metro area including Perimeter and Brookhaven.
Public Transit
- Two MARTA stations service the stadium with the Vine City stop on the west side of the stadium and SEC District on the east. Both of these stations are on the Blue and Green Lines which run east-west and serve nearby suburbs such as Decatur and Westhaven. The Red and Gold Lines run north-south from Doraville and Sandy Springs through downtown to the Airport. The main transfer station from the Red & Gold Lines to the Blue & Green is at the Five Points Station.
Rideshare
- There are two designated rideshare zones near the stadium: GWCC Bus Lane C on Northside Dr. north of the stadium and Broad St. between Trinity and MItchell St. to the south.

- Located in the Centennial Park District, BBQ spot features regionally inspired smoked meats, fresh sides, craft beer, and strong cocktails.
- This historic food hall opened in 1924 and is Atlanta's original food hall. Also known as the Sweet Auburn Curb Market, it features over 20 vendors selling everything from fresh produce to soul food, Afro-Caribbean fare, pizza, and street tacos. - Black Music & Entertainment Walk of FameLocated on the sidewalks of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Northside Drive, immediately adjacent to the stadium this outdoor installation honors trailblazing Black musicians, group acts, and entertainment moguls with permanent bronze sidewalk medallions.
- The Falcon SculptureLocated on the east side of the stadium near Gate 3 this 41.5 feet tall sculpture by Gábor Miklós Szőke clutches a 13-foot bronze football in its talons

- The Kinetic RoofThe stadium's eight panel retractable roof is unique in the NFL, opening outward from the center rather than sliding side-to-side. The roof can fully open in about 10 minutes and provides natural light and ventilation during events.

- Dirty Birds NestLocated in Section 134. This is an exclusive, general admission fan zone reserved strictly for passionate Falcons supporters. Seating within the section is completely unreserved, and non-stop standing, chanting, and loud cheering are expected to create a definitive home-field advantage.
