A Guide to Lincoln Financial Field
Nestled in the heart of South Philadelphia's sports complex, Lincoln Financial Field stands as the home of the Philadelphia Eagles. Known affectionately by fans as "The Linc," this stadium perfectly mirrors the gritty, passionate spirit of the city, offering an electric gameday atmosphere that truly comes alive under the roar of its fanbase.
Getting to the Stadium
The stadium sits in South Philadelphia, part of a sports complex that also houses Citizens Bank Park (Phillies) and Wells Fargo Center (76ers/Flyers). This creates a year round entertainment district, but also means significant traffic during any major event.
Driving & Parking
- DrivingFrom I-95, take Exit 17 (Broad Street) and follow signs into stadium parking. From the New Jersey Turnpike, exit at I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) and follow to I-95 South. From Bucks County and Northeast Philadelphia, take I-95 South to Exit 17. Gameday traffic begins backing up 3-4 hours before kickoff, with Broad Street in particular backing up.
- ParkingParking lots at the sports complex open four and a half hours before kickoff with tons of spaces. Lots D, E, J, K (North & East), and L (North & South) are reserved for season and premium ticket holders. The rest including in lots close to Xfinity Mobile Arena and Citizens Bank Park are open for general parking with no price change due to proximity. No Tailgating is allowed in Lots Q-X on the far side of the baseball stadium. All official stadium lots are entirely cashless and pre-purchasing parking is encouraged to guarantee a spot. For tailgaters needing to stock up, ACME Markets has several locations nearby. For alcohol, FINE WINE & GOOD SPIRITS is a convenient option for pregame beverages.
Public Transit
- SEPTA (The Broad Street Line)Take the Orange (Broad Street) Line southbound to NRG Station (formerly Pattison Avenue). It is the last stop and puts you within a 5-minute walk of the stadium. Sports Express trains run on game days, stopping only at major hubs (City Hall, Walnut-Locust) to get fans there faster. Most transit lines connect to the Orange Line at the City Hall/15th Street station. If you’re coming from North Philly on regional rail transfer at Fern Rock Transit Center.
Rideshare
- The designated rideshare zone is located at the northeast corner of Broad St & Pattinson Ave next to the Broad Street subway station. Expect surge pricing on game days, often 2-3x normal rates. Post-game, wait times can exceed 20-30 minutes. Consider taking SEPTA if you're in the immediate stadium area to avoid the post-game crush.
Pregame Festivities
South Philadelphia offers some of the best pregame bar scenes in the NFL, with a mix of massive entertainment complexes right next to the stadium and authentic neighborhood spots a short distance away. The immediate stadium area features the Stateside Live! complex, while the broader South Philly neighborhood is packed with Irish pubs, sports bars, and legendary eateries.
Pregame Bars & Restaurants
- This massive entertainment complex sits directly adjacent to the stadium, making it the most convenient pregame destination. It features an outdoor backyard area, an expanded PBR Cowboy Bar with a stage, and a new rooftop bar overlooking the complex. It remains the most high-energy (and loudest) spot.
- This century-old Italian bakery has been serving South Philadelphia since 1921. Their flagship location at 1523 S 8th St offers authentic Sicilian pastries, cannoli, zeppole, and custom cakes.
