A Guide to Angel Stadium

As the fourth-oldest stadium in Major League Baseball, "The Big A" blends mid-century charm with modern Orange County flair.

Getting to the Ballpark

Angel Stadium is located in the Platinum Triangle area of Anaheim, positioned between the I-5, SR-57, and SR-22 freeways. It is surrounded by large parking lots but is also adjacent to Anaheim's main transit hub making public transportation from across the region a possibility.

  • Driving & Parking
Angel Stadium offers lots of parking with 12,500 surface parking spaces. The inner parking ring is designated for Preferred Parking and is $10 more expensive than General Parking. While the stadium does allow tailgating no alcohol consumption is permitted and only gas grills, no charcoal, are allowed. There are three main entrances:
    • Douglass Road
Ideal for those sitting in the outfield, particularly center and left field.
    • State College Blvd
Best for home plate and third base side seating.
    • Orangewood Ave
Best for first base side and the right field bleachers.
  • Public Transit
The Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) is a 15 minute walk from the stadium located just across the parking lot from the stadium's north side.
    • Metrolink (Orange County Line)
The Angels Express is a fan favorite. It typically offers special round-trip pricing for weeknight games, allowing fans to avoid I-5 traffic. Fans from around the area can connect to the Orange County Line at various spots throughout the system with LA’s Union Station being the primary hub.
    • Amtrak Pacific Surfliner
Connects fans from San Diego, San Luis Obispo, and LA directly to ARTIC.
    • OCTA Bus
Lines 50, 53, 54, and 153 all serve the stadium area.
  • Rideshare
Rideshare drivers will use the Orangewood Ave entrance for drop offs before the game while the post game pick up location is directly in front of Gate 1, near the City National Grove of Anaheim building.

Pregame Festivities

The Platinum Triangle. The stadium is essentially an island surrounded by parking, but the immediate perimeter (The Platinum Triangle) is home to good options, with a particular focus on craft beer.

Bars & Restaurants

  • Widely regarded as the best pre-game food in Anaheim. They specialize in wood-fired, prime-grade meats. The lines can be long on game days, but the smoked ribeye and wagyu tacos are legendary.
  • An old-school sports bar with over 40 TVs and dozens of pool tables. This is the diehard spot where you'll find the local crowd watching other MLB games before the Angels' first pitch.
  • A high-energy Texas-style BBQ joint with an impressive whiskey list and an axe-throwing range.
  • A local hidden gem sports cantina about 1 mile away. It offers great Mexican-influenced bar food and a more relaxed, neighborhood atmosphere.
  • Located atop the Grand Legacy hotel. While it's closer to Disneyland, it offers a great view of the surrounding area and a more cocktail-forward pregame experience.
  • Located near the park, offering high end Mexico City-style tacos and famous blue corn tortillas.
  • Located just over a mile away, this family run deli boasts an impressive tap list and is known for their traditional sandwiches and old-school atmosphere. (Note: They are closed on Sundays and Mondays, so check their hours before heading over for a game.)

It features a massive outdoor Sideyard with lawn games, a dog-friendly patio, and over 30 taps. It is the best option for families and large groups. (Note: we’re including this here due to proximity, in spite of its ownership by AB-Inbev)
  • Located directly across from the stadium. This is more of a full-service brewpub than a tasting room. It offers a sophisticated sit-down environment with a large patio and a full menu.
  • A short half mile walk from the stadium, this brewery has a heavy gaming theme with tabletop and video games. Their beers are named after gaming tropes, and they offer a diverse menu of fusion pub food like bratwursts and bowls.
  • Located 1.5 miles from the stadium. Founded by veterans of The Bruery, Everywhere is known for high-concept, extremely clean beers. It is a more modern, minimalist space that offers a quieter, local alternative to the Golden Road crowds.
  • Located about 2.5 miles away on Batavia St. It is widely considered one of the top IPA producers in the world. The atmosphere is quirky and fun, usually featuring a top-tier food truck on site.
  • A 5-minute drive from the stadium, it offers a bright, airy taproom and has won several GABF medals for their innovative lagers and IPAs.
  • Located about 3 miles away in the Anaheim Packing District area. Known nationally for their Hazy IPAs and Belgian-style ales, it is a bucket list stop for serious beer enthusiasts visiting for a game.
