Target Field

Minnesota Twins

1 Twins Way, Minneapolis, MN 55403

A Guide to Target Field

Opened in 2010, Target Field is located in the historic Warehouse District (North Loop) of Minneapolis. It transitioned the Twins from the indoor Metrodome to a sun-drenched, limestone-clad outdoor stadium. Weather is always a factor in Minneapolis and it can get especially cold for night games at the beginning and end of the season. Plan your layers accordingly.

Getting to the Ballpark

Target Field is a transit-oriented stadium, uniquely built over an active interstate and integrated with the city's primary commuter hubs.

Driving & Parking

The stadium is located in the Warehouse District of downtown Minneapolis. Most fans arrive via I-394 East (which feeds directly into the ramps), I-94, or I-35W. There are 4 official parking structures (ramps) built directly adjacent to the stadium and connected via skyway.

  • Ramp B
The closest ramp, located on the southeast side. It connects directly to the Target Field Plaza via the Level 2 skyway. It fills up first.
  • Ramp A
Also on the southeast side, connected via skyway. This is the primary ramp for those coming from I-394.
  • Ramp C
Located slightly further east. While it requires a longer walk, it is widely considered the best for exiting, as it has the most direct access back onto I-94.
  • Hawthorne Ramp
Situated between 9th and 10th Streets and Hawthorne Ave, this is a great secondary option just a block further than the ABC ramps. Plenty of other parking exists around downtown Minneapolis with a mix of garages, surface lots and very limited street parking. SpotHero is the official Twins parking partner and offers prepaid parking reservations.

Public Transit

  • Light Rail (METRO)
The Blue Line and Green Line both terminate at Target Field Station, located right at Gate 6. The Blue line connects the Mall of America, MSP Airport and areas south to the stadium. The Green Line services downtown St. Paul, the University of Minnesota and areas east. Park and Ride stations are available at 30th Avenue or Fort Snelling on the Blue Line
  • The Northstar Commuter Bus (Replacing Rail)
As of January 2026, the Northstar Commuter Rail service has been permanently retired. In its place, Metro Transit has launched an expanded Pulse bus network that services the same corridor with higher frequency.
    • Route 888
This is the backbone of the new service, replacing the rail for Ramsey, Anoka, and Coon Rapids. Buses run every 30 minutes during peak hours and every 60 minutes during midday and evenings.
    • Route 882 (Pilot)
A two-year pilot program specifically for Big Lake and Elk River, providing three southbound morning trips and three northbound afternoon trips on weekdays.
    • Route 827
Serves Fridley, with boarding shifted to East River Road for faster downtown access.
    • Drop-off
Unlike the train which ended at the stadium, these buses drop passengers along Marquette and Second Avenues in downtown, a short 3-5 block walk or a quick 50¢ Downtown Zone light rail ride to the gates. Ride Share: There is no dedicated ride share pick up or drop off location at Target Field. As with most events, you'll have better luck getting a car and avoiding surge pricing by walking a few minutes away from the stadium or waiting until after the main push has subsided.
  • The Skyway System
Minneapolis's famous climate-controlled elevated walkways connect downtown hotels and parking directly to the stadium. The Skyway leads to the Ramp B entrance to the stadium with Ramp A servicing the club level. Be aware that the Skyway is generally only open Monday-Friday 6 AM - 6 PM.
  • Biking
The stadium is located at the trailhead of the Cedar Lake Bike Trail. A fenced and guarded bike corral is located just outside of the Target Field Station and Gate 6.

Pregame Festivities

The North Loop (Warehouse District) is an industrial-chic neighborhood known for historic brick warehouses converted into luxury lofts and trendy dining. This is also the home of the arts scene in Minneapolis with lots of music venues and street art throughout the neighborhood.
