A Guide to Progressive Field
Progressive Field, affectionately known as "The Jake" (referencing its original name, Jacobs Field), has been the home of the Cleveland Guardians since 1994. It combines a classic jewel box feel with modern amenities and elevated concessions. Be aware of the seasonal weather swings that Cleveland sees with cold biting winds off Lake Erie often requiring heavy layers, blankets, and knit caps at the beginning and end of the season. Mid-summer games in are frequently hot and humid with temperatures climbing into the 80s and 90s. To escape the heat, aim for seats on the third-base side , which receive shade first as the sun moves behind the stadium.
Getting to the Ballpark
Progressive Field is located in the Gateway District of Downtown Cleveland. Because it shares a footprint with Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (NBA), infrastructure is robust.
