Lincoln Financial Field
A Guide to Lincoln Financial Field
Lincoln Financial Field places Temple football inside Philadelphia’s famous South Philly sports complex. The NFL-size stadium stands beside the city’s baseball and arena venues, with the Broad Street subway and a deep tailgate culture delivering fans to the gates. Temple’s cherry-and-white crowd, marching band and big-game history give “The Linc” a college identity within a polished professional setting.
Getting to Lincoln Financial Field
The stadium address is One Lincoln Financial Field Way, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19148; its operator recommends 1020 Pattison Avenue for GPS routing. The complex is about 3.5 miles south of Center City, near I-95, I-76, Broad Street and Pattison Avenue.
Driving & Parking
- From I-95Use the Broad Street/Sports Complex exits and follow event signs. A Phillies, arena or casino event can change the available lots and best approach.
- From I-76Exit toward Broad Street/Packer Avenue and enter the complex from the west. Avoid crossing Pattison at the last moment to reach an east-side lot.
- Temple Lot KK Lot and adjacent arena lots are the standard game-day areas. Current Temple parking opens about five hours before kickoff and is cashless.
- Game-day priceTemple's active page lists $25 for cars and $50 for oversized vehicles, first-come. Verify the 2026 game listing because Penn State or simultaneous events may carry a different plan.
- Premium parkingCherry, White and Tailgate Row spaces occupy the west side of Lot K and require passes. Access is through the Pattison Avenue gate.
- Fly-In closureThe Pattison gate closes while the team walks through the tailgate scene. Arrive before the published closure rather than expecting staff to interrupt the procession.
- Non-tailgate lotsStadium rules prohibit tailgating in lots north of Pattison and west of Darien, including Q–W and the training-complex lot.
- Accessible parkingAccessible spaces are available within the complex with a valid credential. Contact Temple before game day for the correct lot and seating accommodation.
Public Transit
- SEPTA B LineTake the Broad Street subway south to NRG Station, the terminal stop. The stadium is about a 10-minute signed walk from the platform.
- From Center CityTransfer to the B at City Hall from the Market-Frankford/L Line or walk underground from Suburban Station. Express patterns vary by event.
- Regional RailArrive at Suburban Station or Jefferson Station, then connect to the subway. Check weekend schedules before choosing a return train.
- Bus routesSEPTA Routes 4 and 17 also serve the Sports Complex area, useful when the starting point is already along their corridors.
- PostgameNRG Station is built for large crowds, but entry may be metered. Load the fare method in advance and follow queue directions.
Rideshare (Uber/Lyft)
- Official stagingRideshare vehicles use the northeast corner of Broad Street and Pattison Avenue beside NRG Station.
- Do not request at a gateRestricted stadium roads and pedestrians make Lincoln Financial Field Way an unreliable pickup point.
- Pregame optionA drop near the subway station avoids crossing active parking lanes and allows a straightforward walk to Lot K or the north gates.
- Postgame strategyWalk to the designated staging area before requesting. Simultaneous baseball or arena events can expand the surge across the entire complex.
- Center City alternativeThe subway is generally faster and more predictable than a rideshare to or from a downtown hotel.
Pregame Festivities
Temple's scene is concentrated in Lot K, where donors, students and general fans gather before the team arrives. It is smaller than an Eagles Sunday but still rooted in Philadelphia's serious tailgating culture. The Fly-In gives the day a clear focal point.
Tailgating
- Lot KGeneral football parking and tailgating open roughly five hours before kickoff. Only ticketed fans may enter Temple's designated parking areas.
- Tailgate RowReserved premium spaces on Lot K's west side provide front-row access to pregame programming and a direct Owl Club service contact.
- Temple Tailgate ZoneAthletics has staged music, radio programming, sponsor activities and family entertainment in Lot K. Confirm the 2026 location and opening time.
- The Fly-InAbout two and a half hours before kickoff in the traditional schedule, fans line Lincoln Financial Field Way as the Owls walk through the tailgates.
- Student tailgateTemple organizes a student-focused gathering with music, food and promotions; access and transportation are distributed through current student channels.
- Lot restrictionsGrills, chairs and tents must stay within the space, and drive aisles must remain open. Tailgating is prohibited in lots Q–W and other posted non-tailgate areas.
Pregame Bars & Restaurants
- The 80,000-square-foot entertainment complex between the stadiums has giant screens, multiple bars, food and a high-energy crowd. Expect event pricing and lines.
- The flagship Packer Avenue sports bar is famous for Crabfries, seafood and wall-to-wall televisions. Arrive well before kickoff.
- The small Snyder Avenue stand has served acclaimed roast pork and cheesesteaks since 1930. Check hours because it often closes earlier than game-day visitors expect.
- Tony & Nick's SteaksThe former Tony Luke's stand on Oregon Avenue serves cheesesteaks and roast pork from street-side windows with outdoor seating.
- A neighborhood gastropub north of the complex with craft beer, burgers and creative comfort food, better paired with a short rideshare than a stadium walk.
- An all-day South Philadelphia standby for breakfast, sandwiches and diner plates, useful before a noon game.
Gameday Traditions
- The Fly-InTemple's signature arrival sends the team through Lot K and across the field toward the locker room as supporters line the route.
- “TUFF”Temple's toughness identity appears on uniforms, signs and stadium presentation. Recent teams have entered to a player-created song carrying the same name.
- Single-digit jerseysPlayers who best embody Temple toughness and leadership earn numbers 1 through 9, one of the program's most respected internal honors.
- Cherry and whiteThe university's colors are unusually distinctive in a stadium normally associated with Eagles green. Wear cherry for the clearest visitor contribution.
- Hooter the OwlTemple's costumed mascot joins the cheerleaders and Diamond Marching Band in Lot K and on the sideline.
- “T for Temple U”The fight song follows touchdowns and finishes with the easy-to-join spelling of T-E-M-P-L-E U.
- Diamond Marching BandThe band supplies the pregame field show, fight song and stand music, carrying the university identity into an NFL building.
Monuments & Features

Seating & Sections
The field runs north–south. Temple occupies the west sideline in the current profile, while student and band placements can move by season. Because the stadium is much larger than the ordinary Owls crowd, lower-level location matters more than raw row number.
- Lower sidelineSections between the 20-yard lines balance proximity and angle and keep fans connected to the active crowd.
- Lower end zonesUsually the best value, with a dramatic view of formations developing toward the opposite goal.
- Temple student sectionExpect standing, chants and band sound. Check the current map because the exact block is set for Temple rather than the Eagles.
- Club seatsThe east and west club levels provide indoor lounges, full-service bars and weather protection. Benefits depend on the Temple ticket product.
- Upper deckExcellent panoramic football views and skyline glimpses, but it may feel isolated unless a marquee opponent expands sales upstairs.
- North Gate accessibilityNorth Gate is the designated ADA entrance. Accessible platforms, elevators, captioning and assistive-listening service are available; arrange the correct ticket in advance.
- WeatherWest-side seats generally gain late-day shade first. Upper levels can be windy and cold in November, so bring a permitted blanket rather than an umbrella.
