A Guide to Gainbridge Fieldhouse

Opening its doors as a modern tribute to Indiana's rich basketball heritage, Gainbridge Fieldhouse seamlessly blends a retro-classic exterior with top-tier modern amenities in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Widely celebrated as one of the NBA's most beautifully designed and fan-friendly arenas, this vibrant venue sits at the epicenter of a highly walkable entertainment district, making it an unforgettable game-day destination in the true heartland of hoops.

Getting to the Arena

  • Driving & Parking
Drivers arriving via I-70 should take either the West Street or Pennsylvania Street exits, while those coming from I-65 can utilize the Meridian/Pennsylvania Street exit. Parking accommodations are exceptionally robust, featuring numerous parking lots and massive garages along Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Meridian Streets. The premier, most convenient option is the attached 2,525-space Virginia Avenue Parking Garage located at 155 S. Delaware Street, which features a maximum clearance height of 8'2" and provides a direct, climate-controlled skywalk connection straight into the Fieldhouse. For alternative spots, drivers can easily utilize adjacent surface accommodations like the Gainbridge Fieldhouse Northeast Lot or reserve secure garage spaces via integrated platforms like ParkWhiz or SpotHero.
  • Public Transit
Indianapolis does not have a local commuter rail, subway, or light rail system. If visitors are traveling from out of town, Amtrak services the Indianapolis Union Station (350 S. Illinois St), which is a very easy 3-block walk southwest of Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The primary route serving this station is the Cardinal Line, running between Chicago and New York City.
    • Bus Routes IndyGo
Route 90 (Red Line) BRT along the north-south corridor to the Statehouse Station or the Julia M. Carson Transit Center (CTC), or utilize the Route 92 (Purple Line) BRT connecting Lawrence and the far east side directly to downtown via 38th Street.
  • Rideshare
Fans should set their pins to Pennsylvania Street (west side of the arena, also featuring the designated ADA drop-off zone) or Delaware Street (east side near the entry pavilion). Avoid requesting rides on Maryland Street or Washington Street, as police and traffic attendants will wave vehicles along.
