A Guide to American Airlines Center
Anchoring the Victory Park district since 2001, the American Airlines Center serves as the high energy home for both the Dallas Stars and the Dallas Mavericks. This landmark venue transformed a former industrial area into a walkable entertainment hub.
Getting to the Arena
- Driving & ParkingFrom I-35E, take the Continental Avenue or Victory Avenue exit. From the Dallas North Tollway, exit Wycliff Avenue and head east. Arena-adjacent garages in Victory Park. Surface lots along Victory Avenue and Olive Street offer slightly cheaper options.
- Public Transit
- Light RailThe DART Rail Green and Orange Line stops at Victory Station, directly adjacent to the arena. The train connects to downtown Dallas, Deep Ellum, and the broader DART network. Transfers from the Red and Blue lines can be made at EBJ Union station which is about a mile from the stadium.
- Commuter RailThe TRE commuter rail runs from Fort Worth to Victory Station with stops in Richland Hills, Hurst, and Irving. There is no commuter rail service on Sundays
- Bus Route 49This is the primary bus line serving the American Airlines Center. It runs between Rosa Parks Plaza near West End Station and the arena, stopping just outside.
- RideshareThe designated rideshare areas are located on All Star Way north of the stadium and Nowitzki Way to the south.
Pregame Festivities
Victory Park and the adjacent Uptown neighborhood offer a strong mix of upscale dining, sports bars, and Dallas institutions within walking distance or a short ride from the arena.

- A multi level bar and patio complex in Uptown. The sprawling outdoor space, frozen cocktails, and shareable bar food make it one of the most popular pregame gathering spots in Dallas.
- A sports bar and restaurant in Victory Park, steps from the arena. Craft cocktails, elevated pub fare, and a design forward atmosphere set it apart from typical sports bars. The proximity makes it the default pre- and post-game stop for many fans.
- An upscale American restaurant in the Victory Park development, directly adjacent to the arena. The menu features refined American classics and a strong cocktail program. A polished pregame option for a sit-down dinner before puck drop.
- A modern take on an old west saloon featuring fancy cocktails, elegant steaks, chops, and seafood.
- Industrial style bar with an open air courtyard serving craft brews, cocktails & casual fare.
Neighborhood Attractions
- A world-class science museum designed by Thom Mayne, located adjacent to Klyde Warren Park. Interactive exhibits on dinosaurs, physics, sports, and the human body. About a 10-minute walk from the arena.
- A 5.2-acre urban park built over a freeway (Woodall Rodgers Freeway). Food trucks, games, free fitness classes, and a children's park make it one of Dallas's best public spaces.
- An immersive historical institution chronicling the assassination and legacy of President John F. Kennedy. Housed inside the former Texas School Book Depository, it preserves the exact corner where the fatal shots were fired on November 22, 1963.
- An iconic 561-foot (171 m) observation tower in downtown Dallas, Texas. Affectionately known as "The Ball," its distinctive geodesic dome features 259 LED light nodes that create dazzling, computer-controlled light shows visible from over 15 miles away.

- Mike Modano StatueLocated in PNC Plaza on the south side of the arena this bronze and black granite monument captures the Stars icon in his signature skating pose, jersey fluttering in the wind.
- Championship BannersIn the rafters on the the penalty box side hang banners commemorating the Stars 1999 Stanley Cup championship, Western Conference Championships in 2000 and 2020, Presidents' Trophies in 1998 and 1999 and numerous Division titles

Arena Information
Notable Events
- 1999 Stanley Cup The Stars won their only championship in 1999, defeating the Buffalo Sabres in six games. Brett Hull's Cup-winning goal in triple overtime of Game 6 remains controversial — his skate was in the crease, but the NHL upheld the goal. The victory cemented hockey in Dallas and validated the franchise's move from Minnesota.
