A Guide to Mortgage Matchup Center

Originally opening its doors in 1992, this iconic downtown Phoenix venue has evolved through several eras of naming rights to become the Mortgage Matchup Center. As the, long-standing home of the Phoenix Suns, the arena has witnessed decades of high-octane basketball history and sits perfectly positioned amid the city's bustling culinary and cultural renaissance.

Getting to the Arena

  • Driving & Parking
To drive to the Mortgage Matchup Center from the north or east, take I-10 and exit at Washington/Jefferson Street or 7th Street, heading west on Washington before turning south onto 3rd Street. If you are arriving from the west or northwest via I-10 or I-17, exit directly at Jefferson Street and proceed straight east to the arena plaza. Once you arrive, the dedicated five-story parking structure attached to the venue on 1st/3rd Street is primarily reserved for premium seat owners and suite holders, with highly competitive, limited spaces released to the general public. General drivers should instead target the directly adjacent Jefferson Street Garage at 3rd Street and Jefferson or secure pre-paid passes at the surrounding downtown city garages.
  • Public Transit
Valley Metro Light Rail serves the 3rd Street/Jefferson and 3rd Street/Washington stations, directly adjacent to the arena. The light rail runs east-west through Mesa, Tempe, and Phoenix.
    • Valley Metro Light Rail
The primary rail option to the Mortgage Matchup Center is the Valley Metro Light Rail, which operates a two-line system that splits directly around the arena plaza. Fans traveling from the East Valley (Mesa and Tempe) or central Phoenix can take the A Line (Gilbert Road/Main Street to Downtown Hub), exiting at the 3rd Street/Jefferson station for a short walk to the gates, and catching the return train at the 3rd Street/Washington station. Alternatively, the B Line (Metro Parkway to Baseline/Central Avenue) serves riders traveling from north Phoenix and the South Central extension. The arena features a "RailRide" partnership, meaning your game or concert ticket serves as valid light rail fare at no additional cost on event days.
    • Bus RAPID Lines
Several primary local and express routes drop off right at the Downtown Phoenix Hub adjacent to the stadium. Key options include Route 0 (Central Avenue) for north-south travel and the Phoenix Downtown DASH circulator for navigating the immediate downtown core. Additionally, commuters arriving from the wider valley can utilize the weekday RAPID Express routes, including the I-10 East RAPID, I-10 West RAPID, and I-17 RAPID, which provide direct commuter links to the stadium area.
  • Rideshare
The officially designated rideshare zones for the arena are located at 1st Street/Jefferson (Footprint Center Plaza), along S. 2nd Street (by The Ryan), at S. 3rd Street (adjacent to the Phoenix Convention Center), and at E. Jefferson Street outside the Hotel Palomar and The Arrogant Butcher.
