A Guide to Lenovo Center

The Lenovo Center serves as the premier multi-purpose hub for sports and entertainment in North Carolina's Research Triangle. As the home of the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes and NC State Men’s Basketball, the arena is currently undergoing a multi-year transformation featuring enhanced fan amenities, modernized concourses, and a vibrant new year-round beer hall and restaurant.

Getting to the Arena

  • Driving & Parking
    From I-40, take the Wade Avenue exit Exit 289 and follow Wade Avenue west to Edwards Mill Road. From I-440, take Exit 1C Wade Avenue. Parking lots are surrounding the arena. The fairgrounds campus provides ample surface lot space.
  • Public Transit
    GoRaleigh operates limited bus service, but Raleigh is primarily a driving city. Plan to drive or rideshare.
    • GoRaleigh Route 26
      Edwards Mill: This remains the primary line serving the Lenovo Center directly.
    • Wolfline NC State Transit Route 60
      Bidirectional service along Dan Allen Drive.
    • Amtrak Raleigh Union Station
      No direct light rail or commuter rail to the Lenovo Center. Fans must transfer from Union Station to GoRaleigh buses Routes 9 or 11 to reach the arena.
  • Rideshare
    The designated pick-up and drop-off zone is located at the TowneBank Center at Carter-Finley Stadium. Directly across from the Lenovo Center.

Pregame Festivities

The arena's location near the NC State Fairgrounds and Cary puts fans near a mix of craft breweries, BBQ joints, and local favorites. Downtown Raleigh and the Glenwood South district offer more options for those arriving early.

Neighborhood Attractions

  • A free art museum on Blue Ridge Road, near the arena. The museum park features large-scale outdoor sculptures and walking trails through 164 acres.
  • Over 5,000 acres of forests, trails, and lakes between Raleigh and the Research Triangle Park. A peaceful contrast to game-night energy, about 10 minutes from the arena.
  • A mixed-use district in Midtown Raleigh with shopping, dining, and entertainment. A good spot for a pregame meal or post-game outing.
  • A sprawling open-air market on Lake Wheeler Road with fresh produce, baked goods, and North Carolina specialty items. Open year-round.
  • One of the oldest amusement parks in the country, located near NC State's campus. A carousel, pedal boats, and a small train make it a family-friendly stop.

  • The Lenovo Legend Club
    Available to fans in first two rows of select 100 level seats. It serves as a high-end, lounge-style retreat that doubles as a living museum of the building's history.
  • Lexus Lounge
    This remains the primary upscale destination for long-term premium members. It features a private entrance, gourmet buffet dining, and a full-service bar.
  • The View Bar
    Large, modernized space on the Northeast corridor. Sections 317–319.
  • BetMGM Sports Lounge
    A specialized social space designed for fans to monitor live sports and enjoy a sports book style atmosphere during games.
  • Yuengling Flightdeck
    Located on the 200-level, this area provides a casual but exclusive club atmosphere with inclusive food and beverage packages for season-long members.

Notable Events

  • The Hartford-to-Raleigh Move 1997: The franchise relocated from Hartford, Connecticut, where they were the Whalers. The move was controversial, but the Hurricanes have built a devoted following in a non-traditional hockey market.
