Overall the Trop was as bad, honestly maybe worse, than my expectation. I didn't go in with high hopes but thought the "renovations" post hurricane would at least make it tolerable. From the moment we walked in it just felt like a mall from the 80s, disconnected and amateur. We were saved by the good work meeting and a couple of fun, engaged fans behind us but overall it's clear this is no longer a viable place for Major League Baseball, if it ever was

We stayed walking distance from the stadium but there was lots of parking in the lots and the area was relatively walkable. though we got lucky with weather on that front. We didn't take it but it does seem like the SunRunner is a useful tool if you're in the general area, which is what pushes it just above average.
Especially given our purpose there and our meeting at Fergs this is the strongest part of the experience. Lots of other bars and restaurants in the area and a diverse collection of options. I'm a little surprised how well The Trop did in this area
This was pretty rough. Granted, it's one of the newest franchises in baseball but even their attempt at commemorating history and moments fell short. I didn't find the Hall of Fame area that supposedly exists in right field due to the poor concourse design and the statues outside the stadium were both hard to find (at the VIP entrance, not a general one) and really underwhelming (I've never seen something so small)
We got lucky to sit in front of a cool group of dudes who were into the game, but in general it was pretty quiet, desolate, and unengaged. Even the Cubs fans around us (which were man) were fairly quiet. The stadium itself kind of reminded me of a Japanese dome but that just made the lack of energy that much more noticeable
Honestly, our seats weren't bad for this. I appreciated the elevated perspective from the RF Bleachers but everything else was terrible. Concourses below the stands meaning you can't see the field from most of the walkways/concessions. The angles/perspectives from the infield seats didn't look great on our walk around. Outside of our actual seats there really weren't many good places to watch the game

The lone big video board was behind us above the right field bleachers but even it didn't display the information I'm looking for. No advanced info at all. Even on the main board I struggled to find even basic stuff like season stats vs game stats. The auxiliary boards were even worse only giving the very basic box score (R/H/E). I couldn't even tell who was up half the time
Just very basic overall. A couple of areas with basic food stands. Self order kiosks in the OF and everything looked like a temporary stand. Even the places that were listed as full bars or more involved areas were very, very basic compared to the expectation. 1 Craft Beer stand unless I missed the TB Brews area (in spite of looking pretty intently)
Kind of hard to find and still had lines in spite of there only being ~12K people there
Granted, it was the 2nd game after the reopening and against the Cubs, the ticket itself wasn't cheap especially considering the quality of the outing. Concessions were pretty standard ballpark prices; I paid $22 for a mediocre craft beer. Cost was in line with an average ballpark experience. The value was not
This is the worst current ballpark in the majors and the 2nd worst I've ever been to (See Coliseum, Oakland). It felt like an aging mall and if not for the other context of our visit probably would have scored even worse. The pregame and luck of fans around us is the only thing that saved this experience at all
