Boys Baseball Tour: SoCal 1

The stadium sits at the top of a large hill. We were able to walk up from Sunset without too much issue but that won't be the case for everyone. There's little to no public Transit and the stadium is surrounded by a sea of expensive parking. It also can take up to 1.5 hours to get out of the parking lot during a busy game

While there's not much of a neighborhood around the stadium, the Short Stop bar really helps elevate this score. Ita a great old school baseball bar where we had some great fan interactions. Beyond that there are a few places on Sunset but its a pretty isolated spot

Its the 3rd oldest park in baseball and it feels it, in a good way. It strikes a nice balance of the 60s style aestheic with some modern touches and very much feels like a park of an era. They also document their history well with statues and monuments to players, seasons and moments scattered throughout the stadium, but primarily at the center field entrance

Sunday night baseball vs the Yanks definitely helped but I've always appreciated the vibe here. I've had nothing but good experiences with the fans in the stadium, though I know thats not universal. Not too much pumped in, fake crowd engagement. The only knock I have is there where a LOT of Yankees fans which was a little surprising

We sat relatively low in right field and had great views. I've also sat upper deck on the infield which were also good views. Though they can get cramped you can see the field from pretty much anywhere on the concourses which is a big plus for me

This is one of the places the stadium shows its age. The sound system is pretty old and crackling. The video boards aren't really up to modern standards and information isn't particularly easy to find. They also don't really display advanced stats

Mostly the basics with a few areas, particularly centerfield, having some good local options

I honestly don't remember these either way

Tickets aren't the cheapest in the league but considering its LA and the how good the Dodgers have been they're not outrageous. We got decent seats for a fine price. Concessions are in line with expectations.

As much as I hate the Dodgers I really do like this ballpark. It feels of its place and time, transporting you back to an era that somehow feels even less prevalent than the founding era. Its high energy with a knowledge fan base, honors its history well, and is just an overall fun experience
