Wrigley Boys Trip

4.0

This was part of a transformative trip for us and our friendship and beyond. Biking around the city. Best seats we will ever sit in. Man I love Chicago

Category Ratings

Transit/Parking 5.0

Chicago has probably the 2nd or 3rd best transit system in the country. The L is a joy and there's something special and particular about taking the train to Wrigley

Neighborhood 4.5

My score here is definitely impacted by my pre-renovation/gentrification experience. Wrigleyville is a cool and special place but it has definitely lost some character as thr money has come in. Some of the iconic dives are still there but this particular trip felt more generic than my first time in 2013

History 4.5

I mean, its Wrigley. It is literally living history

Atmosphere 4.0

In its original form this category was split into Atmosphere and Energy/Fandom. Atmo got a 4 but Energy got a 3.5. Honestly can't tell you why in retrospect. Fandom probably knocked because of the tourist nature? I've historically thought it did well in this category so went with the higher number

Line of Sight 4.0

This was the best sest I've ever had and one you can only get here and maybe a couple of other stadiums. Upgrades have made it better to get around but it gets knocked for the underground concourses and short (in height) walkways that create obstructed views for good seats, not just the ones under the awning

Seat: Section 120, Row 10, Seat 5

Presentation/Display 4.0

They've added boards with needed information but keep it subtle and not distracting. Gave some advanced stats

Concessions 3.0

Basic, congested, underwhelming. But an Old Style at Wrigley is still special

Bathrooms 3.5

Our nearest for this game was super quick, convenient, and clean. I think that was probably a product of where the seats were because I've definitely stood in lines for dirty bathrooms here before. The troughs live on, which I genuinely don't know how I feel about

Cost/Value/Pricing 3.5

Seat cost was high but value was higher. Concessions are definitely elevated in cost. Another place that gets dinged from me because of my previous experience being better but it is honestly pretty average relative to the league

Personal Enjoyment 4.5

Wrigley is an icon and I always enjoy going there, even as a Cardinals fan. The bleachers are an experience, the city and atmosphere are top notch. I wouldn't want it as my home park (I did that with Fenway) but I'm very happy its still standing
